Miracle Kitchen a Miracle Program

The newly formed Community Outreach Program of ACHT has had a very successful start and is being well received by the local community.  One portion of the program is to help the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen in Framingham MA.  AKA - The Miracle Kitchen.  The Soup Kitchen has been lead by Shakeh Johnson over the past several years with volunteers from our ACYOA and many of our own parishioners.  Once a month, the Community Outreach or “ACHT-Angels” have decided to enhance this effort by purchasing the ingredients and preparing well rounded meals loaded with meats and fresh vegetables.

Our prepared meals have consisted of meatloaf with gravy, pilaf and fresh cut string beans, chicken pot pies, chicken enchiladas and much more.  And, the scent of fresh baked chocolate chip cookies thrilled the “guests”.

Our ACYOA and children of volunteer families get much out of this program as they are able to help people less fortunate than themselves.  They often talk with many guests including one man who owned four restaurants.  A few unfortunate circumstances and eventually found himself on the needing end.  We serve families, single moms and dads as well as many who just cannot make ends meet.  We are seeing more people who can’t find the ways and means to feed their family, especially toward the end of the month.

If you would like to volunteer for the Miracle Kitchen, help is needed to prepare and cook the meals, serve at the Salvation Army and bake or donate some type of dessert.  Please contact Jeff Hyde at JeffHyde@verizon.net  if you wish to help.

The Community Outreach Program of ACHT is being lead by Fr. Krikor Sabounjian and Lori Kashgegian with a great influence by Shakeh Johnson, Jeff Hyde and Renee Ferraro.  Thanks to all who have given their time.  For volunteer opportunities or you know someone we can help, please contact Der Krikor frkrikor@holytranslators.org or call the church office.
